The World At War is a series of games in which strategic
and military units use combat, diplomacy,
espionage, industry, and technology to capture the world.
If you know RISK®, Diplomacy®, World In Flames®, Conquest®,
or Axis&Allies® you can learn to play these games easily.
If you have never played these games a few minutes reading the pages is
all you need.
The games are played via Email and via automatic HTML giving member/players
days to make their moves.
Maps of the world and types of units are created for different periods
of Earth's history.
Moves are compiled on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule.
These periods reflect times of crisis in Earth's history.
The first such period to be offered in this series is World War II.
It is January 1st, 1938.
World tensions are building.
You are a persona from history in one of the major nations involved, acting
as leader, general, admiral, or air marshall.
You control a number of forces. Whether purely military forces or along
with diplomats, spies, scientists, or industrialists you position your
forces for strategic advantage.
Together with your team mates you guide your nation to diplomatic and military
victory over your enemies.
Combat is in strategic zones using tactical elements of the units you bring
into battle.
Territories won provide resources and industrial production.
Some territories are considered strategic points needed to win the game.
For more information on the first game and the beta testing already underway, go to Tacit Memnos Infinitum (the creators of these games).
The first game is scheduled for Nov 1, 1999.
